Cashew MTP: Online Applications Open for the Next Edition (East African Participants Only)
The African Cashew Alliance (ACA) has opened online applications for Edition 21 of the Cashew Master Training Programme (MTP), exclusively for participants from East Africa.
With funding support from the European Union (EU), the Organization of African Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) and the Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ), the 21st edition of the MTP will once again be held in East Africa, following the successful implementation of Edition 20 in 2025.
Applications are open to people working in the private and public sectors, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and development partners involved in promoting the cashew value chain in East Africa.
The applicants must be mandated by their host institutions and will undergo a transparent selection process based on established criteria.

Applicants should note that successfully completing at least two online cashew or agribusiness courses on the E-MOVE platform is a pre-requisite for applying for the MTP. Candidates are therefore encouraged to take courses on E-MOVE via https://online.atingi.org/local/partner/page.php?id=27 .
Applicants will be required to attach their certificates of completion of the E-MOVE courses before they can submit their MTP application.
About the MTP
The Master Training Programme aims to increase theoretical knowledge and practical skills of African cashew experts along the value chain and consequently to further promote the competitiveness of the African cashew sector. It is an intensive training involving both classroom and practical sessions on various aspects of the cashew value chain ranging from production and processing to economics, cashew market dynamics, marketing and financing mechanisms and cross cutting issues like facilitation skills, negotiation skills, decision making, gender among others.
The MTP is implemented by the ACA with support from the GIZ/MOVE/ComCashew Project, Ghana’s Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG), the Conseil du Coton et de l’ Anacarde (CCA), The East Africa Community (EAC), GIZ/SEAMPEC II, the Consultative International Cashew Council (CICC), the Cashew nuts Board of Tanzania (CBT), and Instituto de Amêndoas de Moçambique, IP (IAM, IP).
Training Location
MTP 21 will take place in East Africa by the ACA with expert support from GIZ/MOVE, EAC, GIZ/SEAMPEC II, CBT, IAM and other national institutions and companies involved in the cashew sector. The working languages will be English, Portuguese and Swahili (with translation service).
Timelines
The 21st Edition of the MTP is expected to start in May 2026 and end by August 2026. Specific timelines for this Edition will be communicated to successful applicants.
